STUYVESANTOWNE

Across the River, West 'tis that
at the cliffs & clefts of Victoria above
blackish waters slick as Legislation, of Verrazzano
& not-so-merried ferries, the promontory sits of
visage, resplendented of red deer & red bear &
white Eagles' scat from Lady Liberty!

Memories of Fidel

It was in the early '50's that I first met Fidel, and looking back on it now, I must admit, honestly, that I did play a role, quite innocuously really, in the revolutionary events that swept Cuba just a few, short years later.

Pub Fare in the United
Kingdom and Ireland

                    Nancy Julien Kopp

   F
ood in the United Kingdom gets a bum wrap more often than not. In years past, returned travelers spread the word as soon as they hit their first American fast food joint. Totally tasteless. Keep ordering a pint of ale so you don't have to taste the food. England was great, except for the food.

Back of the Book

Original posters, that is those that were actually hung in theaters, have gained an investor-collector following in the past few years. An original Frankenstein poster recently sold for $200,000.

This 81 inch by 81 inch Ziegfeld Follies poster (1946) is a rare example of an artist, the well-known George Petty, signing his work. Almost all U.S. movie posters were not signed by the artist; they were essentially contractors to the studios. This 6 sheet's value is estimated at $5000.00.
